MONTGOMERY COUNTY, Texas (KTRK) -- A former Magnolia Police Department officer and Magnolia Independent School District employee has been charged with sexually assaulting a child, according to the Montgomery County Precinct 3 Constable's Office.

In May 2026, deputies received a report from Child Protective Services that 44-year-old Brandon David Muse of Magnolia, Texas, allegedly sexually abused a child, who was 14 years old at the time, according to the constable's office.

Deputies say that detectives learned that Muse was residing in Minden, Louisiana. On Tuesday, he was taken into custody by Minden PD. At the time of his arrest, Muse was employed as a school bus monitor for a school district in Minden, authorities said.

Through an extensive investigation, officials say that Muse served as a police officer with Magnolia PD until January 2020, and he was also employed by Magnolia ISD, possibly in transportation services, from March 2023 through April 2024.

Precinct 3 detectives also believed that Muse may have been involved with youth groups in Texas and Louisiana.

Anyone with information regarding Brandon David Muse is asked to contact the Montgomery County Precinct 3 Constable's Office at 281-364-4211 and request to speak with a detective.
